According to the latest statistics from the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 4.4% of all cosmetic surgery performed during year 2009 in the United States was on patients of Asian descent.

Since Asians are estimated to now constitute over 5% of the U.S. population, their rate of surgery was approximately 15-20% lower than that for the country's overall general population.
