Looks More Important Than Competence in Securing a Job? |
Winter, 2011
More employees and job applicants in South Korea are coming to believe that appearance counts for more than skills, capability, or competence when seeking employment.

Nearly half of 600 salaried workers surveyed by Job Korea (Korean language website) in late 2010 reported that their biggest worry at work is their appearance.
Another Job Korea survey of 1,700 employees across the nation in early 2011 found that almost 90 per cent said looks are one of the most important factors for securing a job.
APSG Comment: Sure, apperance has always been important in every country in every endeavor in every era. But more so than skill or competence? Hard to believe.
