With Asian protruding mouth, the lips stay open when the face is at rest and appear prominent and inharmonious with the chin and nose.

Too much gum tissue is visible when smiling, and the space between the bottom of nose and top of the lip is too short.

Correction requires complex maxillofacial surgery including removal of some teeth, cheek and jaw bone fracture, repositioning, and wiring.
