Asian chin augmentation by sagittal-split osteotmy and sliding genioplasty can be used in more severe cases of chin retrusion.

The body of the mandible is fractured and advanced forward while the end of the chin is fractured and slid forward. The surgery is complex and usually performed by a maxillofacial surgeon.
